Service Description

1-Day Course | May 16th | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM This one-day Intro to Combatives & Firearms course is designed for all skill levels who want to build a solid foundation in personal defense by integrating unarmed combatives with handgun use. The course focuses on realistic, practical application—teaching students how to manage close-range threats, create space, and safely transition to the firearm when appropriate. Morning Block: Combatives Fundamentals The morning session will focus on empty-hand techniques and combatives principles relevant to self-defense encounters. Students will work with inert firearms to safely learn: • Managing distance and controlling an attacker • Clinch work and positional awareness • Weapon retention concepts • Safe integration of firearm access during close-range encounters This block is structured to be accessible to beginners while still providing value to experienced shooters. Afternoon Block: Live Fire Application In the afternoon, students will move to the live-fire range to apply the concepts learned earlier in the day. Training will focus on: • Drawing and engaging from realistic defensive positions • Applying combatives-based movement to live fire • Decision-making under stress • Efficient, practical handgun employment Required Equipment • Semi-auto pistol in a common defensive caliber (.380 or above) • 200 rounds of ammunition • Quality holster (Kydex recommended) • Comfortable clothing suitable for range use and light physical activity (Combatives training equipment for the morning portion will be provided.) This course emphasizes safety, efficiency, and real-world applicability—making it an excellent option for newer shooters looking to build confidence, as well as experienced students seeking to refine their defensive skill set. - Combative’s Portion of this course taught by Instructor Daniel Wright. Instructor Bio: Daniel Wright is a certified firearms and combatives instructor specializing in the integrated application of close-quarter combatives and pistol employment. His instructional focus is on personal security, marksmanship, and effective transitions between empty-hand skills, edged-weapon, and firearm use in close-range encounters.
