2 Day Instructor Development Course: February 7-8. 8:30- 4:30pm both days Instructor Development Pistol Course (2-Day) The Instructor Development Pistol Course from Richardson Precision and Training is a two-day, performance-driven program designed for current firearms instructors and experienced shooters seeking to elevate their instructional ability, shooting standards, and professionalism on the range. This course places a strong emphasis on accountability, precision, and consistency. Students will be held to clearly defined shooting standards throughout the program, reinforcing the principle that effective instructors must be able to demonstrate—not just explain—proper technique. A core component of this course is student teach-backs. Participants will be required to present and instruct assigned blocks of material to the class, receiving structured feedback on: • Communication and command presence • Safety management and line control • Demonstration quality and coaching effectiveness • Clarity of explanation and student engagement The curriculum also covers: • Instructor-level pistol fundamentals and diagnostics • Building drills with purpose and measurable outcomes • Managing varied skill levels on the firing line • Coaching errors and corrective techniques • Range safety leadership and decision-making • Developing a professional instructor mindset This is not an entry-level shooting course. It is designed for instructors who want to refine their craft, improve how they teach, and raise the standard of training they deliver. Material covered: • Range safety • Fundamentals • Accuracy and accountability drills • Drawing from a holster • Balancing speed and accuracy • Strong and weak hand shooting drills Drawing • Distance shooting out to 25 yards • Introduction to movement Equipment needed: Semi auto pistol 9mm or above ( no revolvers) Kydex holster 800 rds of ammo 2-3 magazines minimum Eye and ear protection Positive attitude and willingness to improve
